Nokia 2660 Flip to launch in India on August 30, might cost ₹4699

NokiaAfter missing out on the Nokia 2720 Flip, Indians will finally be able to get their hands on a Nokia flip phone by HMD Global in the form of the new Nokia 2660 Flip. The device, which is second in line among this year’s Originals series phones by Nokia Mobile to be heading to India, will be available starting from August 30, i.e., just two days before the next global launch event of the company.

Unlike the Nokia 2720 Flip or the US-exclusive Nokia 2760 Flip that operates on KaiOS, the Nokia 2660 Flip has the S30+ platform as its base. The display setup here includes a 2.8-inch QVGA primary screen (320 x 240 p) and a 1.77-inch QQVGA secondary screen (160 x 120 p). There’s a 0.3 MP camera alongside a LED flash. Powered by the Unisoc T107 processor, the phone has 48 MB of RAM and 128 MB of internal storage with microSD card support of up to 32 GB.

The company believes that the removable 1450 mAh battery can help the phone last up to 6.3 hours of talk time or up to 20.1 days of standby time on 4G. It has an emergency button that can help one reach up to 5 contacts at once. There’s a micro-USB and a 3.5 mm audio port. The 2600 Flip supports 4G, Bluetooth 4.2, and wireless FM radio. Also, it comes pre-installed with an MP3 player and around eight games, including the Snake.

Interestingly, a comment by @eudaykumaru58 on the company’s Twitter teaser post includes a picture that reveals the device’s retail store pricing to be around ₹4699, which is ₹700 more than that of the Nokia 8210 4G. Like any other Nokia feature phone in India, the Nokia 2660 Flip also seems to be coming with a 1-year replacement guarantee.

So that leaves us only with the Nokia 5710 XpressAudio, which should also be launching soon, as it is close to two months since the device was certified by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) back on 1st of July.
