Nokia 3.4 gets certified by FCC in the US before the official launch

After about nineteen months from the launch of the Nokia 3.2 in the MWC 2019, the next iteration of the Nokia 3 series is incoming, and Nokia Mobile plans to launch it on September 22. Nokia 3.4 has now been certified by FCC in the US, and the test results of two of its variants, i.e., TA-1283 and TA-1285, were published yesterday. The Nokia TA-1283 is a Dual SIM variant, and the network bands that it supports indicate that it is a Rest of World (ROW) model, while the TA-1285 is a Single SIM and an Americas (specific) variant.

Given below are the network bands supported by the following models:

  • TA-1283: GSM (850, 1900), WCDMA (2, 5), LTE (5, 7, 28, 38, 41).
  • TA-1285: GSM (850, 1900), WCDMA (2, 4, 5), LTE (2, 4, 5, 7, 12, 13, 17, 28, 66).

As per the certification, Nokia 3.4 will also support Bluetooth, WLAN 2.4GHz 802.11b/g/n, and GLONASS. The tested models carried the hardware version MB_V3, which means that Nokia Mobile experimented with at least three prototypes before settling down on the current version.

The test results also uncovered a diagram depicting the dimensions and the types of antennas present in the device. Nokia 3.4 will be 76mm wide, 161mm high, and measures 171mm diagonally, which means that it can fit in a screen of about 6.5-inches. Also, TA-1285 will miss out on NFC, unlike the TA-1283 model. Even though this diagram shows the back view, but a camera placement can be seen at the top corner, which could suggest that the Nokia 3.4 may come with a hole-punch display, which is in line with one of the rumors about the device, though the position of the camera might differ.

There is also another picture, which confirms that the camera module at the back will be circular. The leaked official render of the Nokia 3.4 also shows that there will be three cameras and a LED flash at the back, which are placed similarly to the camera module on the Nokia C5 Endi.

The FCC certifications did not reveal any more details. Anyway, the launch date is quite close and we can safely assume the launch of at least four new Nokia devices, which are the Nokia 2.4, Nokia 3.4, Nokia 225 4G, and Nokia 215 4G.

Thank you, Venkatesh, for sharing it.
