Nokia to work on US Federal 5G Cybersecurity Project

Nokia announced this week that the company was selected as a technology provider and collaborator for the National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCoE) 5G Cybersecurity Project. As it is mentioned in the press release, Nokia will work with the US government and other NCCoE partners to ensure a secure 4G to 5G transition.

The goal of the project is to identify 5G use-cases and show that the components of 5G architecture can meet security requirements, as well to demonstrate risk mitigation. The project wants to “leverage the 5G standardized security features which are defined in 3GPP standards to provide enhanced cybersecurity capabilities built into network equipment and end user devices.”

Alongside Nokia, other partners include AT&T,  Cisco, Intel, DELL, T-Mobile, RedHat and more. You can learn more about this project on the NCCOE official web pages. Nokia’s press release can be accessed by clicking here.
