Nokia T20, HMD Global’s first tablet coming with 10.36″ display, UK prices out

It was only yesterday that we finally got to see HMD Global’s new Nokia products after heeding through the eyes of retailers and certification sites for months. As if that was not enough, the UAE and UK retailers already have the gist of the upcoming Nokia Tablet.

We do not know if it is the same, but a Nokia Tablet has already picked the certification in Russia with the model numbers TA-1392 and TA-1397 last month. As the retailers have it, HMD Global will call its first tablet the Nokia T20 (Cricket followers will relate more with T20 🙂).

So, a different series, T, for the new Nokia tablets. The company is not going with the letter N that Nokia Technologies used for its first Android-based tablet called the Nokia N1 in 2014. Does that mean HMD Global is reserving ‘N’ for something else, or will we never have the N series back?

Anyways, the Nokia T20 tablet will fit in a 10.36-inch display and 4 GB of RAM coupled with 64 GB of internal storage. Also, there will be two variants. One of them seems to be a Wi-Fi-only model, while the other will have 4G connectivity through SIM cards. The Nokia T20 will come in Blue color, which now seems to be the new black for HMD Global.

It’s UK pricing is similar to that of the Nokia G50, which is as follows:

  • 4G variant: £202 (€237, ₹20860, US$280) including VAT; £168 (€197, ₹17380, US$233) without VAT.
  • Wi-Fi variant: £185 (€217, ₹19140, US$257) including VAT; £154 (€181, ₹15950, US$214) without VAT.

Although HMD Global had the license to make tablets since its inception, it is only now they will cater to the tablet demand. Not only Nokia Mobile, but many other smartphone makers like Xiaomi, OnePlus, Realme, and Honor are expected to launch their tablets in the coming months.

For some reason, I was expecting the tablet to be a rugged one like the Nokia XR20, but there is no R in the name. Anyways, it will be interesting to see how the Nokia T20 will look, especially after seeing the camera module on the Nokia XR20.

The Nokia T20, Nokia G50, and possibly a phone from the X series (the Bond phone?) might make it for another launch event before the Bond movie “No Time To Die” hits the theatres in October.
