Nokia G21 in stock at Russian retailer DNS

Russian DNS, which is the largest electronics retailer with over 3000 stores across the federation, has its stock of yet unannounced Nokia G21 ready for shipping. According to their page, Nokia G21 should be available for valentines day in Moscow at the price of 15 999 ₽, which is around 187€ or close to 15999 rupees. Nokia G21 will be available as a 4/128GB version in Blue colour. I must say that this is slightly strange news since the official announcement date is still unknown.

However, the most important thing here, besides the evident disorganization in the marketing and business strategy of the HMD, is the confirmation of the G21 specs. Unlike the Nokia G400 for the US market, Nokia G21 will be coming with an octa-core 1.6 GHz Unisoc T606 processor that has 6x Cortex-A55 and 2x Cortex-A75 cores. This processor supports only 4G so there won’t be 5G in the global version of G400. But, the 50 MP main camera is there and the HD+ LCD screen has a 90Hz refresh rate which is nice for the price range.

Here goes the specs list:

  • Name: Nokia G21 TA-1401
  • Dimensions: 75.9 x 164.6 x 8.5mm
  • Mass: 190 g
  • Display: 6.5″ IPS LCD, 1600×720 pixels, 269 ppi, 20:9 aspect ratio, 90 Hz refresh rate
  • Processor: 1.6 GHz Unisoc T606, 12nm, 6x Cortex-A55 and 2x Cortex-A75 cores
  • GPU: Mali-G57
  • Memory: 4GB RAM, 128 GB internal, 512 GB microSD card
  • Camera: 50+2+2 MP, LED flash
  • Selfie cam: 8MP
  • Connectivity: LTE, BT 5.0, WiFi b/g/a/nc, 3.5 mm jack, USB-C, NFC, GLONASS, GPS, A-GPS, BeiDou, Galileo
  • Extra: light, proximity, accelerometer, OZO Audio, face unlock, side fingerprint reader
  • Battery: 5050 mAh, 18W fast charging
  • Colour: Blue
  • OS: Android 11

Unisoc T606 processor definitely is not as powerful as Snapdragon 480, but it should be more than enough for this affordable phone. Nokia Mobile is most probably aiming at all those that want a decent working affordable smartphone and don’t care much about its appearance. It will be interesting to see how its 50MP main camera performs, although the photos shouldn’t differ much from the 48 MP camera seen on G50.
