Rumor: Nokia 9 successor not likely to appear at MWC2020

We are at the time of the year again when companies are getting ready to announce their portfolio for the upcoming holiday season, while also being relatively close to industry’s biggest event, Mobile World Congress.

According to rumors, by the end of this year we can expect a new higher midrange device from Nokia Mobile that is rumored to be the Nokia 8.2, and the first 5G Nokia phone at MWC2020. At this year’s MWC2019 we saw the Nokia 9 PureView announced, so questions are already being raised about the successor of Nokia Mobile’s cameraphone.

Nokia_anew shared via Twitter that we might not see the Nokia 9 successor at MWC next year, but a bit after – sometime during the second quarter of 2020. A MWC2020 is launch is also possible, but at this stage it doesn’t look realistic. There aren’t any “credible” rumors about the Nokia 9.1, or whatever the device will be called, floating online, so it’s hard to know what to expect.

The Nokia 9 PureView is still a unique device on the market and a successor that fixes some cons of the 9 PureView, like the photo processing time, auto lowlight performance, great fingerprint sensor and probably bigger battery would surely be warmly welcomed by the community, especially if priced reasonably (like the 9 PureView was) and coming with hardware relevant for the year of announcement.
