Nokia 1 and Nokia 2 (Nougat) get the September update

With a few days of delay, Nokia Mobile pushed out the September update for the affordable Nokia 1 and Nokia 2. With these two devices, basically every globally available Nokia smartphone received or started receiving the September update.

The update for Nokia 1 is interesting because it skips the August updates and delivers straight the September update. The September update probably has all the important patches of the August release. The update is 78.8MB in size, with the official changelog mentioning just the Google Security patch for September.

The Nokia 2 running Android Nougat also received the September update. There are two versions of Nokia 2 that still receive updates – the one with Nougat and the one with Android 8.1 Oreo. Nokia Mobile gave an option to customers to choose if they want to upgrade. At the moment, because of technical problems that are ongoing for 2 months, the Android 8.1 upgrade isn’t available. The September patch for Nougat-running Nokia 2 is 80.1MB in size.
