Ravi Kunwar takes the helm in India

There are new changes at HMD Global, the licensee of the Nokia brand for smartphones and tablets. With its new portfolio slow to hit the capital markets (the Nokia C22 is just now available in India), HMD Global is restructuring to speed things up.

Sanmeet Singh Kochhar, vice president of HMD Global, will no longer run the business in India. HMD has appointed Ravi Kunwar to continue steering the boat there. Kochhar will, however, take care of logistics related to India, more specifically exports from that country, where many Nokia-branded phones and accessories are manufactured. He will also oversee the Asia, Middle East and Africa regions from his office in Dubai.

Kunwar also has a background at Nokia, where he worked for 11 years. After Nokia, he worked at Microsoft India as sales and marketing director for the mobile devices and services division. After the collapse of that division, he became vice president for Asia Pacific and China.

Thanks singhnsk for the tip
