Nokia Mobile among the top 5 smartphone makers in Denmark

Counterpoint Technology Market Research in one of its recent press releases revealed that Nokia Mobile made it to the top five in Denmark in terms of market share of smartphones in the last quarter. In Q1 2021, the smartphone market in Denmark declined compared to both Q4 2020 and Q1 2020 but experienced an increased average selling price (ASP) driven by the arrival of 5G devices.

Samsung led the pack with a market share of 36%, followed by Apple (27%) and Xiaomi (16%). Next up was OnePlus, with a more than 200% boost in shipments. Nokia Mobile completed the top five list as it managed to get 4% of the pie chart. The company saw better shipments than in Q1 2020. On checking Nokia Mobile’s Denmark site, it seems that the Nokia 8.3 5G, Nokia 5.4, Nokia 3.4, and Nokia 2.4 were the smartphones that were available during the first quarter of the year.

The analysis also included the smartphone markets of the Netherlands and Nokia Mobile’s motherland, Finland. Unlike Denmark, these two countries saw a rise in shipments. While Samsung led the market share pie again in both nations, Xiaomi’s and OnePlus’ shipments boomed by over 300% in the Netherlands, and that’s possibly coming from Huawei and LG’s decline.

Compared to the Dutch market’s 14% year-on-year growth, Nokia Mobile’s annual growth came to a standstill. The company also did not find a mention in Finland’s top five. Overall, Nokia Mobile’s shipments in Europe decreased in Q1 2021 compared to the same period last year.

However, Denmark, Croatia, and Sweden are some markets where Nokia Mobile managed to grow its shipments and made it to the top five. Canalys reported that the company ranked 4th in Croatia, with an exceptional annual growth of more than 210%, and 5th in Sweden.
